And here is what the book is about:

He says happily ever afters don’t exist. She says they do. Their story will prove who’s right.

Edmund Bennett loves books and literature. Words and stories are his thing. They’re his place to be an expert. That being said, there are some stories, such as romances, which he deems to be drivel. To him, romances are fanciful pieces of fluff that aren’t worth his time to read, and happily ever afters are the stuff of fairytales, not the real world.

Ava Johnston has always loved romances. Over the course of her life, she has spent countless hours envisioning romantic settings and scenes. Now that she’s all grown up, she gets paid to write down those daydreams in book form. To her, a happily ever after is as delicious as chocolate and a life goal to be achieved.

Unfortunately, creating her own happily ever after is not as easy as writing them. Romantic heroes do not always behave as expected, and secrets can complicate things, leaving Ava to wonder if her real-life love story will reach it’s desired ending or if Eddie is right after all and happily ever afters are just the work of make-believe.

New Release from Leenie

Announcing Our First Inspirational Journal!

On September 19, 2023, we will officially be stepping into a new genre here at Leenie B Books — Inspirational Journals — and we couldn’t be more excited!

In 2020, Leenie felt God leading her to focus on the word LOVE for the year. Little did she know just how stretched she’d be contemplating that word in that very unusual year. Not only did she ponder it in her everyday life as she navigated life through a pandemic, she also embarked on a project that took examples from her books and used them to illustrate the characteristics of God’s love found in 1 Corinthians 13 (and a couple other Bible verses.)

The result is her short Varied Thoughts on Writing Journal, Glimpses of God’s Love.

[You can read what she has to say about how this journal is “scary” next step in her writing career on her blog by clicking here or on her Substack by clicking here.]

ABOUT THE BOOK

Is it possible to learn about God’s love through a romance book?

Many would laugh out loud and give a scoffing no as a reply to this question. Some might give a shrug and a hesitant maybe which rises at the end, colouring their tone with doubt. But just ask Leenie Brown that question, and you’ll get a resounding yes!

Leenie has been writing and publishing romances since 2015 and has read or heard many disparaging comments about her genre. She knows that romance stories are often looked down on as frivolous or even misleading and something that causing readers to turn away from Christ instead of towards Him.

Glimpses of God’s Love is her response to the error she sees in this sort of thinking. In this journal, she’ll make the case that romance stories present a uniquely appropriate place to delve deeply into what perfect love – God’s love – looks like.

Join romance author Leenie Brown as she uses examples from her very own books to illustrate and reflect on God’s love.
